Health information dessemination in Public Libraries

I am undertaking a study/research that seeks to improve and promote the way in which health information is desseminated  in public libraries.Are they so far doing a good job or are there some gaps or any deficiencies sorruonding this phenomenon.I would really be glad if those who have once undetaken a similar research to this can help me frame this study and also if you have come across any resources or documents that are related to my topic please post them.
