Transforming and sustaining inclusive development communities : an evidence-based approach - Workshop and Networking Event ,
19 September 2003, De Rode Hoed, Amsterdam
This one-day workshop will examine ICT-enabled communities in the field of international development. The objective is to initiate the move away from a theoretical analysis of these communities of practice, towards a more vigorous, evidence-based and outcomes-based implementation. In the process, the workshop will aim to provide an inventory of the research needs of practitioners working in the development field.
In addition to a number of practitioners and researchers on this subject from around the world, we are delighted to announce that Etienne Wenger, an independent thinker and researcher most known for his work on communities of practice, will be making a Keynote Address.
The programme includes the participative process of peer assists, in which a problem from a real-life case is analysed and participants in small, informal workgroups suggest possible solutions. We have room for one more peer assistee, so if you have an issue pertaining to a community of practice for which you would like expert input from international C&T practitioners, please contact the organisers.
The workshop is taking place as part of the International Conference on Communities and Technologies to be held on 19-21 September 2003 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
