The Asia Society for Social Improvement and Sustainable Transformation (ASSIST) seeks to engage "netizens" from around the world by using online platforms such as Facebook and Twitter to generate 181,818 tweets, likes and comments on various ways to say no to violence against women. By the end of the 18-day campaign in the Philippines, we are expecting to get more than what we have targeted.
This campaign not only provides interaction among men and women from different countries and sectors, it also provides a venue for individuals, organizations and governments to collaborate and communicate with each other in identifying strategic areas of cooperation to stop violence against women.
A Facebook fan page has been created for this action: Look for 181818 tweets and likes to stop violence against women and share your views on how we can help in saying no to VAW.
