I'm looking at ways to evaluate the performance of a Community of Practice (internal to a public sector department) and wondering if members have any tips on this? ie what could be a measure of the value created by a CoP?

I have looked at Wenger's work but haven't been able to find anything that really spells out in monetary terms what the value of CoPs are.

Samples of CoP evaluations greatfully accepted.

many thanks, Peter

Peter, can you say more about what KIND of CoP? I think that plays into evaluating. For instance, what are you evaluating? For whom? IS the CoP internal in an organization? Say more?
