My name is kgalalelo at the University of Botswana studying Library and Information studies.Tacit  is the kind of knowledge that is difficult to transfer to another person by means of writing it down or verbalizing it. i will like to know the various methods that can be used to collect or gain tacit knowledge among employees in the organisation.

WE CAN ACQUIRE TACIT KNOWLEDGE THROUGH Tracking lessons learnt

Some organizations have an official process for recording lessons learned so that others can benefit from  experiences in which they did not participate. Lessons learned can be thought of as realistic and relevant case studies, similar to but perhaps more efficient than storytelling. This is an effective way to spread knowledge gained from experience.

Consider audio or video recording of debriefing sessions at the end of a project as a standardized protocol for capturing lessons learned. Then store in a Wiki or database, adding metadata to improve search.

i agree with you Tefo,stories and demonstrations can be evaluated and applied by other employees to gain knowledge.Also helping each other by sharing  knowledge in an organization can help share tacit knowledge.Although internal competition may pose as a challenge but organizations need to develop a culture of sharing knowledge in the workplace.new employees should learn from those who have lots of experience in the work place.

i think one way is through getting to know different opinions from employees about any emerging issue in the organization.and also through story telling, as in employees can share their past experiences on achieved organizational goals, this is important  to individuals and organizations at large because they are learning from their experience
