i just joined your group. i need help. i am in process of doing research on 'managing knowledge using web 2.0 tools in NGOS'. I need case studies of how NGOs are using web 2.0 tools to manage knowledge. any help is highly welcomed. i will be glad for research articles on the same. thank you all.
I don't know whether you have found an answer to your question regarding the knowledge audit but I just want to share with you some of our experience on knowledge management experience audit.
First of all, as part of our training courses on capitalization of experience or programme of documenting experience for institutions, we always evaluate the knowledge management experience with criterias such as: vision and activities on documenting experiences, existence of multidisciplinary working groups, formal handing over document, evaluation mechanisms, sharing tools, existence of mechanisms for the identification, description and analysis of experiences. We evaluate the influence of policy based on experience outputs.
Also, we review the level of investment on research and development, partnership issues, communities of practices, knowledge sharing tools (study visits, internships, exchange of staff, etc.).

I see Knowledge Management as a need to change the command-and-control of all information-based organizations. This type of initiative is what the leaders of all information-based businesses must be able to achieve. As soon as a company takes the first tentative steps from the “data” to “information”, its decision processes, management structure, and even the way its work gets done begin to be transformed. It is very encouraging to see that most organizations are beginning to see the value of KM , and its becoming part of the curriculum for a number of Business Schools.
