MFF Regional Knowledge Management Officer
IUCN Asia Region

IUCN, International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources seeks to recruit a self-motivated professional for the position of MFF Regional Knowledge Management Officer, IUCN Asia Region within the Mangroves for the Future (MFF) Regional Secretariat located in Bangkok, Thailand.

The MFF Regional Knowledge Management Officer will report to the MFF Coordinator on all programmatic and financial matters and will work in close collaboration with other concerned IUCN staff. The MFF Regional Knowledge Management Officer will be responsible for the following main duties:

Knowledge Management
• Develop and maintain an MFF Knowledge Management System to build, share and apply information, including project results, lessons learned and best practices, to support capacity development and technical assistance needs at regional and national levels;
• Support the development and implementation of the MFF monitoring, learning and evaluation (MLE) framework to support learning;
• Implement MFF related activities, e.g. organising and conducting workshops/training courses and field activities, including press trips, and participation in regional and global events;
• Writing, reviewing and editing technical publications and other knowledge products and reporting requirements;

Communications & Outreach
• Coordinate the development and delivery of Regional and National Communications and Media Strategies and Action Plans for MFF and provide special focus to assist dialogue countries;
• Support the development of strategic partnership development and networking by MFF and to ensure effective communication with other IUCN and other core partner programmes and external audiences;
• Coordinate the development and delivery of Regional and National Communications Strategies and Action Plans for MFF (including production of a bi-monthly e-newsletter and regular updating of the MFF website

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
• At least 7 years of relevant professional experience;
• A degree in coastal/ marine natural resource management, sustainable development, communications or related field, higher post graduate qualifications would be an asset;
• Working Experience in project management, networking & communications, information management, editing and publishing;
• A good understanding of Asia Regional issues and challenges facing coastal and marine areas and an appreciation of current affairs is required.
• Working experience with NGOs, International Organisations and/or the UN system, including working experience in the Asia Region, is desirable.
• Ability to work with multicultural diverse & multidisciplinary team;
• Excellent communication, writing and presentation skills in English and knowledge of other Asian languages a distinct advantage;
• Proficient in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and experienced with a range of multi-media and web-based design
