Warm greetings for the day! IRES Kenya would like to invite you to take part in our upcoming trainings for the month May 2018 on Health and Social Care Institute at Indepth Research Services training facilities, Nairobi, Kenya.

The institute provides you with the knowledge and skills to analyze important public health and social care issues.

Installation, Use and Management of OPENHDS and ODK Course (7th to 11th May 2018) 

OPENHDS is an open source Android tablet application that enables community field workers to collect births, deaths, migrations, pregnancies, deliveries, immunization and other pertinent health information. Field workers can collect data "offline" and upload data to the OPENHDS server when they have mobile connectivity. Health program administrators and policy makers can thus have real time access to health and demographic information in the community.

 Mapping Nutrition Preparedness in Emergency Course (7th to 11th May 2018) 

This course covers basic concepts of GIS under nutrition and response in emergencies, individual assessment and micronutrients. The course aims to inform the public about the importance of preparedness during emergencies, how to respond and what recovery measures can be taken to prevent death and the worsening of malnutrition of affected populations. This training will also strengthen the technical knowledge of individuals working in or aspiring to work in emergency nutrition.

Improving Health and Nutrition Course (7th to 11th May 2018) 

While most of us know that good nutrition is essential in helping us feel our best and reach our optimal health; finding time to eat a balanced diet daily seems a formidable task in this fast-paced affluent society. The good news is that by taking charge of your diet, you can improve your health while reducing your risk of lifestyle diseases such as heart disease or cancer.

Good nutrition is therefore one of the keys to good health. This five-day training is aimed at developing healthier communities by filling in the gaps between nutrition and health.

Introduction to Occupational Health and Safety Course. (7th to 11th May 2018) 

This training will bring you into the world of occupational health, by examples and facts about the size of the problem. You will also learn about legislation and different actors working on the topic occupational Health

World Health Organization (WHO), defines health as a state of physical, emotional and mental wellbeing and not merely the absence of a disease or infirmity.
