Dear colleagues,

I recently heard about a model that is called CKW (community knowledge workers) in East Africa. It is about connecting people in communities with organisations offering services to communities via mobile phones, so that feedback and data can be transferred from communities to organisations. More information here (and attached pdf file):

http://www.grameenfoundation.org/what-we-do/agriculture/community-k...

I would like to know whether anybody of you has experience with it, good or bad? And for which purpose/what kind of information did you use it?

We are thinking about using it 'experimentally' for scaling up the outreach of a survey on farmers' use of varieties.

Any comments and advice are welcome.

We all get a great deal out of our engagement in KM4Dev. Maybe you would be happy to express appreciation through a regular voluntary contribution. Crowd funding works!
