RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

The Learning and Knowledge Management (LEARN) project provides a wide range of technical services to support USAID’s internal collaborating, learning, and adapting, and supports the institutionalization of learning within USAID Missions. Starting October 1, the LEARN contract will be managing ProgramNet, a web-based collaborative platform devoted to sharing knowledge, experience, best practices, Agency policies and guidance to promote learning and application of the Program Cycle.

 

Engility Corporation, building on the IRG legacy in international development, seeks a Knowledge Management, Communications and Online Events Specialist for the LEARN Project.

The Specialist will support the LEARN Project with facilitation and technical support for online events, including webinars, eConsultations and online Office Hours. Additionally, the Specialist will work as part of a team facilitating outreach and support for content development of ProgramNet, rolling out and supporting implementation of Program Cycle reforms, and other policy initiatives of the PPL Bureau. Facilitating Webinars and other live or on-demand online interactions for USAID will entail at least 90% of the work and responsibilities for this position. This position will be based in the PPL/LER Bureau in the Ronald Reagan Building at 1300 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW in Washington DC.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Facilitate Webinars: set-up, conduct and monitor live and online discussions, complex webinars, e-TDYs (i.e. providing technical assistance to overseas missions through digital technologies) and other online interactions between USAID in Washington, DC, overseas Missions and other operating units
  • Support remote and headquarter presenters on webinar preparation, training on how to present webinars and how to use the Adobe Connect platform
  • Assist in identifying and pursuing learning objectives using online tools and communications strategies; assist with creating evaluation metrics for online learning objectives and other USAID projects and objectives
  • Coordinate with team members in the planning and set-up of webinars and other live or on-demand online interactions through the use of established pipelines, planning and review documents. 
  • Work as part of the team to manage Page Owner content developed for the website, and ensure the correct content is made available to online participants for events. In addition, edit and improve content submissions.
  • Manage and publish the ProgramNet update, a monthly e-newsletter sent to all ProgramNet members

 

MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant area such as Communications, Information Science, Knowledge Management, or International Relations is required
  • 5 years of experience
  • 3 years of experience in International Development
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Expertise in writing, online content development, and communication strategy required
  • Must be comfortable communicating directly with technical experts across the international development field
  • Must be able to take the initiative in consulting with USAID client(s) to identify appropriate in-person and online communications activities.
  • Professional background in international development or cross-cultural experience is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1 year or more of experience working with Adobe Creative Suite
