The Evaluation Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is looking for a consultant with expertise in audience measurement for knowledge products, including citation analysis, analysis of media coverage, and web analytics. The consultant will be tasked to conduct a desk review of the dissemination and influence of key UNDP knowledge products in the Arab world, such as the Arab Human Development Reports (
http://www.arab-hdr.org/) or the Arab Knowledge Report (
http://www.mbrfoundation.ae/English/pages/AKR2009.aspx).
The evaluation seeks to assess the degree to which these reports have succeeded in reaching, influencing and motivating their audience, either directly (e.g. through direct downloads of the reports by users) or through key national, regional and global news media (including Arab-language and francophone media) relaying the messages of the reports.
This is a home-based assignment that does not require travel. The work is to be done in March or April 2012. Raw data will be sent to the successful candidate for analysis. Additional information could be gathered by phone or email with various stakeholders. Those might include UNDP personnel, journalists and opinion-makers in selected countries.
A working knowledge of English, Arabic and French is required for interviews and some of the analysis. The report should be written in English.
