I know one of the principals in this organization and think highly of them and support them. So I'm passing along the job information to the KM4Dev community, particularly colleagues in the Carribean region.

July 17, 2013 - Now Hiring
Communications Coordinator & Storyteller
Haiti Partners helps Haitians change Haiti through education by working with schools, churches, and
organizations to transform their communities. This year we’re helping more than 1,000 children receive
a quality education in six partner schools, expanding our Children’s Academy and Learning Center,
launching social businesses, training over 1,000 church leaders in faith and justice issues, and
providing 25 young leaders with full scholarships to Haitian seminaries as they apprentice in our work to
mobilize churches for holistic mission and the common good.
So we get to be part of incredible stories. And we want to be part of even more. We can’t wait to work
with someone who contributes to more inspiring change through communication and storytelling.
You’ll share stories, build partnerships, and help raise money with excellence, creativity, and respect for
the dignity of Haitian colleagues and friends. You’ll help shape our voice and content across all our
media channels. You’ll play a key role in strategy and execution of our fundraising, advocacy, and
branding. You’ll collaborate closely with our US-based team, Haitian colleagues, and local
communities.
Ideal candidate
Skills
● Minimum 3 years professional experience working in at least 2 of the following media areas:
photo, video, web, or graphic design.
● Strong writer: don’t need to be a novelist, but you’ve got a knack for showing, not telling, and for
coming up with ways to get and keep people interested.
● Experience planning & executing multi-channel fundraising/storytelling campaigns & projects.
● Experience building a strong social media presence and community across channels like
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Approach
● Team player and Self-Starter: work collaboratively with both Haitian and American colleagues;
but also have the entrepreneurial drive to conceive and implement new projects with minimal
supervision. Make everyone around you better at their job.
● Problem solver and strategic thinker: find ways around the obstacles to get the job done and
make us more effective. Shape the big picture and connect all the dots. No problem is too big or
too small to start working on.
Culture
● Strong finisher: multitask and prioritize well, meet deadlines, take the initiative to fill in the gaps,
and follow tasks through to the end.
● Relentlessly improving: looking for ways to sharpen your skills, increase your efficiency,
respond well to feedback, and learn more.
● Sense of humor: our work is hard, heartbreaking, yet hopeful. Laughing together is essential.
