Job Description:
DAI’s Communications Team is looking for a Knowledge Management (KM) Specialist to support KM functions in DAI’s Bethesda location. Reporting to the Director of Communications, the KM Specialist will facilitate the smooth functioning of DAI’s MicroSoft SharePoint-based intranet (the Portal), the fundamental infrastructure for DAI’s internal communication and technical knowledge capture, and assist the technical Sectors in maintaining and refreshing core KM assets used in project work and in DAI’s marketing and business development activities. 

Responsibilities will include the following:

• Provide orientation to all incoming staff on the DAI Portal
• Deliver specialized training to DAI staff on KM issues and aspects of Portal usage specific to their functions
• Serve as in-house point of contact for the Portal and help to facilitate the DAI Portal working group
• Maintain a DAI taxonomy associated with search and retrieval software integrated into DAI’s Portal
• With the Office of Information Management and Technology, assist in developing new features and functionality on the Portal, according to organizational needs
• Facilitate all DAI submissions to the Development Experience Clearinghouse and other donor-funded repositories, reporting regularly on compliance across the Sectors
• Administer Project Profiles (set up new profiles and monitor) and monitor project information to ensure accuracy
• Assist in the maintenance of the Current Projects document, DAI at a Glance data, and other central data sources as needed
• Respond to information requests on an as-needed, as-available basis
• Explore ways of looking across activities of technical Sectors (highlighting new toolkits, papers, success stories, etc.) 
• Oversee the physical library


Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and two to four years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Facility with MicroSoft Office suite; working knowledge of SharePoint highly desirable
• Experience implementing KM projects desirable (for example, communities of practice, document management, taxonomy creation, etc.) 
• Initiative, high standards, and meticulous eye for detail
• Customer service orientation
• Knowledge of international development desirable
• Excellent communication skills, especially written communications; group facilitation skills desirable
• Must be eligible to work in the US
