BACKGROUND

Knowledge management support would like to hire a consultant with the major responsibility of using social media and other appropriate tools to increase usage and engagement of UN-Habitat’s knowledge platforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1        Develop an online marketing and research strategy to increase visibility, membership and traffic across the agency’s knowledge platforms, particularly the Urban Gateway, and an action plan to guide its implementation.

2        Guide implementation of priority areas of the strategy relating to:

a. Market intelligence on projects, programmes, funding opportunities, stakeholders including donors working on sustainable urban development

b.Increased membership and user engagement on the Urban Gateway

c. Features to generate income for urban issues and the sustainability of the Urban Gateway, such as crowd funding

d.Features to enable interaction with major social media platforms such as LinkedIn and Facebook

3        Define and monitor targets and benchmarks to measure the success of the online marketing and research strategies.

EDUCATION

Degree in Online Marketing, Research or related subject.

WORK EXPERIENCE

At least five years  proven experience in applying online marketing and research strategies, including social media.  Candidates should provide evidence of work through links to the respective sites.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Working knowledge of other UN official languages is an asset.

REMUNERATION

Payments will be based on deliverables over the consultancy period. There are set remuneration rates for consultancies. The rate is determined by functions performed and experience of the consultant. The fees will be paid as per agreement.
