Thanks for the interest. Our organization is very small (we have a local Bolivian staff of 3 people). We have implemented eight rural libraries which are all in municipal capitals in impoverished communities outside of the city of Sucre. We have trained thousands of teachers, librarians and children in literacy activities and proper use of a library. All of our programs are culturally sustainable and we try to look for the best books and the books the people need the most. We have just this year begun literacy activities in the city of Sucre. Libraries and literacy in Bolivia are a very new thing and reading habits do not exist at any level of society. We hope to connect with people across the world who are working in literacy to gain exposure for our organization and learn new and creative strategies to promote literacy and library use. You can check out our website www.biblioworks.org.
Hopefully we can communicate more, Let me know a little more about what you do.
