Project Description: Creative Associates International (Creative) is seeking a Senior Knowledge Management Advisor for an anticipated global HIV and AIDS project. The project is intended to strengthen the technical competence and capacity of host governments and civil society to implement evidence-based HIV programs aimed at building an AIDS-Free generation.

Project Duration: 5 years

Position Start Date: Anticipated 2014

Position Summary:
The Senior Knowledge Management Advisor will serve as the overall project lead for the dissemination of technical knowledge internally and externally for this anticipated global HIV project. We are seeking a Senior Knowledge Management Advisor with a record of innovative strategies for collecting, translating and disseminating high impact interventions to a variety of audiences. S/he will lead the overall strategy and implementation across all technical teams related to knowledge management, both within project headquarters and across a variety of geographical hubs. This position will require significant knowledge and expertise in leveraging new platforms of emerging and social media to maximize the reach and impact of project messaging and findings.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Leads project’s overall strategy for effectively collecting, synthesizing, analyzing and disseminating evidenced-based and experiential best practices for HIV prevention across the project.
- Provides technical leadership to Headquarters and country teams in ongoing efforts to identify, developing and implement knowledge management activities across a variety of technical areas and platforms.
Ensures project’s knowledge management approaches speak to a variety of lay and technical audiences through targeted approaches.
- Supervises in-country program staff on knowledge management-related activities. Builds capacity of government and civil society partners to collect and disseminate their best practices in HIV-related areas.
- Leads project’s web-related presence, and contributes to social and emerging media knowledge management approaches.
- Represents the project in local, national, and international meetings and events related to HIV programming, as appropriate.
- International travel of up to 30% required.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Advanced degree (Master’s degree or higher) in applied science.
- At least 10 years’ experience planning, establishing and directing a wide range of learning and knowledge-sharing activities that support and advance collaboration, learning, use and adaptation of both evidenced-based and experiential knowledge, such as communities of practice, partners meetings and online engagements.
- Experience assessing knowledge-sharing needs and identifiying appropriate dissemination and learning activities and programs that promote appropriate project HIV priorities.
- Experience providing assistance and expertise in designing and implementing communication approaches appropriate to developing country contexts; conducting workshops and trainings; and overseeing website development, content management and supporting the IT needs of a project.
- Experience in the use of new and emerging technology (for example, social media or delivery of mobile content).
- Knowledge of HIV prevention, care and/or treatment programming.
- Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills, as well as strong writing and oral presentation skills.
- Experience with USAID-funded health projects a plus.
- French or additional language skills a plus.
