Hello Members of KM4DEV,
My name is Mark Turner and I work for the consulting arm of the international NGO Practical Action (
www.practicalaction.org.uk).
I am working as part of a team on an exciting new knowledge management programme called ELLA (Evidence and Lessons from Latin America).
ELLA is a DFID funded project which aims to identify, synthesise and collate development lessons learned from experiences in Latin America and make this knowledge available in a useful form to policy-makers, practitioners and researchers in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. More information can be found here:
www.dfid.gov.uk/Global-Issues/Evidence-and-lessons-from-Latin-America/We are currently in the process of designing the project and are trying to learn as much as we can about the potential supply of relevant information in Latin American countries, as well as identifying which individuals and organisations in Africa and Asia would find this information useful and what would be the most effective way of presenting it.
We are very keen to get as much input as possible from all types of professionals working in the field of development, particularly those living and working in Latin America, Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia. We want ELLA to be as useful as possible so the more we can find out about the opinions of potential users the better.
During October, we are conducting an online survey (
www.dfid.gov.uk/Global-Issues/Evidence-and-lessons-from-Latin-Ameri...).
We have also set up some Facebook groups: one in English (
www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=112747202114781&v=wall) and one in Spanish (
www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=157856644226960#!/group.php?gid=1578...)
We would really appreciate all comments, ideas and suggestions so please participate in our survey and let us know what you think.
Thanks very much and best wishes,
Mark
